The comics exhibition Cartoocomics 2012 was a unique opportunity to finally have a close look at the cosplay world: I have seen so many pictures of all these boys and girls dressed up as comics characters, science fiction heroes and videogame monsters that I have grown incredibly curious about them and I just couldn’t miss the event!
When I stepped in, though, I realized I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to see: the number of cosplayers was incredible, to say the least, and the costumes… the costumes were amazing, perfect even in the smallest details.
I have to admit it took me a while to adapt to such an unusual crowd but, after a while, reading a comic book standing near Lupin III, standing in line at the restaurant behind Sailor Moon or meeting Freddy Krueger in an alley, felt perfectly normal.
