A year of Dragons

 

Last Sunday was the eve of the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year is the largest and most important annual festival celebrated by the Chinese and Chinese descendants around the world. Lunar New Year brings the world’s largest migration as millions of city workers or students head home to their villages, reconnecting briefly with families.

The Chinese Zodiac relates each Chinese calendar year to an animal, based on a 12-year cycle. It is a widely popular system used informally in many Asian countries, including China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. This year is the year of the dragon; the dragon is the most revered and mystical creature. We believe that dragon will bring us fortune and luck. Nowadays, not only Asia but also across the world, you can see the celebrations of the year of the dragon.
