The scarf is probably one of my best friends in my closet. Not only does it help me survive the extreme air-conditioning at the office, it is also a fast and sure way to perk up an outfit.
Scarves are very versatile: they can be used in summer, when they appear in cotton, linen, and other light fabrics. In fall and winter, they suddenly become wider and heavier, in wool, cashmere, and fabric mixes.
The primary thing scarves bring besides warmth is color. With the correct shade or pattern, they can be the centerpiece of an ensemble, or perhaps the accent. But used for whichever season, it is always important to remember to have fun with your scarves. Fling them with the wind, or hug them snugly. Let them take flight while giving you close comfort.
