Unexpectedly, the 90s are back! I’m talking about a return to grunge, a reuse of old clothes and an impressive stylistic revival.
Doc Martens absolutely have to be an integral part of our outfits for autumn/winter 2013-2014, even better if they are dirty and worn-looking. Also making a comeback are flatform sneakers, like those worn on tour by the Spice Girls, the shoes that caused tendinitis for millions of girls around the world, including me!
You are really only ready to face the 90s if you have the courage to show everyone your navel. Yes, you’ve got it, the belly is on display, but this time, as opposed to 20 years ago, it’s not combined with low-rise pants and skirts (thank goodness!).
And our hair? How will we be styling it? A timeless classic is back: the ponytail. High or low, it does not matter, but it must be smooth and thick, perhaps accompanied by a perfect shatush, with dark regrowth that amplifies the grunge, un-cared for effect that was huge in the 90s. If you want to really nail the look, wear a center parting like the beautiful Cara Delevingne, you can’t go wrong!
