Ah, we now have a new City of Lights, or at least I had one during my brief, but very enjoyable, stay in the German capital. We were lucky enough to have coincided with the city’s Festival of Lights.
The Festival of Lights took place last month and 70 buildings and landscapes were lit. But I only just learnt of this on my return, while over there I definitely knew something special was happening and that everything looked amazing lit-up like that, but I wasn’t aware of its amazing scale.
That was why I unfortunately missed a lot and I only came across things on my way somewhere. Had I known that what I missed surpassed that which I did see – featured in the first pictures shown – I would’ve gone on the special tour offered of this magical and incredible festival.
Also, it wasn’t just one tour, there were several of them: on foot, by bus, on a boat. There was no excuse not to take one. I’m close to tears. Thankfully I was lucky to have seen a few things that were absolutely worthwhile. Hope we’ll do something similar here in Perú!
