Here is the new fashionable accessory of the fashionistas: the running sneaker.
No, the it-girls don’t especially like jogging, they just mix their running shoes with their everyday looks, even the most eccentric ones.
And I’m totally a fan of it! I even gave in to the trend: you remember? My look with the slim padded jacket? They were running shoes (that I brought during my holidays in London) that I was wearing.
And believe me, it’s pure magic! When it’s cold, it’s pretty warm. And with my job, it’s perfect for walking all day long in Paris for shopping. It’s also a nice game to try to find out how to wear them and not look like you’ve just come out of the gym.
My advice is to match your running shoes with your outfit:
- avoid shapes and fabrics that look too “sporty”, banish tracksuits, leggings or hoodies and choose something more feminine: a nice shirt, slim trousers, a jacket, a short skirt…
- go for blinged-out jewels (big shiny necklaces, trendy bracelets, earrings, etc…)
- if the shoes are flashy, opt for a neutral look (black, navy, grey) and if they are more plain, don’t hesitate to mix them with your trendy pieces (printed pants, revisited American jacket…)
Only one rule: break the rules!
Here are 2 outfits that I found on the Benetton e-shop.
Black slim pants, a classic jacket, a striped t-shirt, and a “lady’s” bag, this is how you perfectly twist a classic look.
Trendy trousers, a spring jacket, a mix of prints, for a trendy, but comfortable look. There’s no need to wear super high (and painful) heels, the running shoes will play their role of stylish shoes perfectly.
These running shoes are made for walking. And that’s not all they do, one of these days these shoes are gonna make you so trendy!
