This is definitely Snoopy’s year.
The comic books most famous dog celebrates his 60 years and, among many other initiatives, he will blow out the candles at the XXII Amadora International Comics Festival, with the commemorative exhibition “Peanuts – 60 years”: fans of the philosopher dog and his inseparable friends Peanuts will be able to learn more about the work their creator, Charles Schulz, as the exhibition shows, through various media, the route of the author and his characters.
Among the various modules that compose the exhibition, the highlight is the “Snoopy in Fashion” show, featuring the participation of Portuguese designers like Katty Xiomara, Nuno Gama, José António Tenente, Ana Salazar, Anabela Baldaque, Manuel Alves e José Manuel Gonçalves, Augustus and some Lisbon School of Design students. The challenge was launched and each designer has created a special outfit for Snoopy.
Included in the commemorations of Snoopy’s 60th anniversary, the “Snoopy in Fashion” module aims to raise funds for UNICEF and the Schools for Africa program. After two weeks at the International Festival of Amadora BD, the pieces will be auctioned, and 100% of funds collected will be donated to charity.
