World fabrics & artisans

The beginning of 2012 is starting on a productive and enthusiastic note! I invite you to discover the Fabrics & Crafts of the World project , a web-documentary to follow online, about a journey to document textile artisans and techniques from all over the world: from France to Peru, Cambodia to Morocco…

I am sure that you are all interested in fashion, interior design and the story and origin of what you wear, the fibers, materials, dyeing process, the prints. That you all bring back memory gifts from your trips like pareos, scarves and various accessories.

I am passionate about fabrics and textile cultures of the world and I was in Morocco this summer to follow artisans working on weaving, embroidery and leather. I took pictures, filmed and wrote. You can see these portraits of artisans on the project website. The reports of upcoming trips will be posted as and when, on the website.
This multimedia project will be concluded with an exhibition: human encounters, stories of exceptional crafts, to discover the secrets of natural dyes, weaving wool, spinning silk… I will keep you posted soon. Next destination: Cambodia!
