Men wearing high heels

by United Blogs of Benetton on: maart 19th, 2010

Actually it is kind of unfair to men that they can not earn a little bit more length. They just have to deal with their length. Or is that history nowadays?

At the Amsterdam International Fashion Week I took a photo of this fashionable man, Jean Paul Paula, because I could see he’s got a very unique style of is own. It turns out Jean Paul Paula is a fashion editor and knows all about what’s hot and what’s not. He recently was spotted by the famous photographer, “The Sartorialist” in Paris. To JP, wearing heels is absolutely normal. I can tell you that I really like his style.

What do you think? In 2010: is it more than normal for males to wear high heeled shoes?

 Fashion icon?

by United Blogs of Benetton on: maart 10th, 2010

There is something ‘heavy’ going on. Homeless people are recognized by photographers and fashion insiders.

For example this Chinese man.
Chinese fashionistas on the internet love him and think he is a real fashion icon and handsome too.
They take pictures of him all the time. His outfits look a little bit like the collection of Vivienne Westwood.
He’s also famous for the fact that he weares women clothes – dresses – all the time.

The famous street photographer The Sartorialist captured a homeless man as well. His shoes combine nicely with his clothes.

But is it fair to make ‘fashion fun’ and to use these homeless people for entertainment? Just because ‘homeless chic’ is so hot right now? Or should we see it as a compliment?

You tell me! Fashion icon or just wrong to ‘use’ people like that?
