The very prestigious MoMA – Museum of Modern Art of New York has a project that joints in one event their popular and very famous Merchandising Department (that runs the MoMA Design Stores of NY, Tokyo and Online) and the cultural programing department: The Destination Design Series. This project gathers design products from one country and features them on an expo on their stores and sell during the summer months these objects on their stores.

Since 4 years ago, this NY Institution features during May, June and July, on all the 5 stores (3 at the Big Apple, 1 in Tokyo and another online) the best of the design of an “Emergin Country” on the Design World. “Destinations” like Corea, Japan and Brasil have been features on previous years, and now Portugal gets all the Spotlight.

Portugal, as the chosen country of 2010, will feature 100 objects all made by and in Portugal. Some labels have produced special editions for this event (like the cork objects of Pelcor) other just remade old series (like LaGa Bag by Krv Kurva).

Portugual Designers and Portuguese Contemporary Products gain relevance on International Design Stage … And That is a Good Reality!
After arriving, the sunny weather just came with us, and NYC was even more shining than it usually is.
