Benetton Style: Post Xmas outfit

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 27th, 2012

I tend to wear knitted sweaters after Christmas Day to hide my enormous swell from Christmas Dinner (consuming too much potatoes as usual), since the weather has become much friendlier than previous weeks, meaning we have warm weather and average humidity….no more layering!  In the picture I’m wearing a metallic tone sleeveless peplum top belted with a floral motif belt, teamed with a pair of red tartan trousers and equestrian boots.  You can achieve this post-festive look easily with a few selected pieces from Benetton –  Sleeveless satin top, belted with thin leather belt with belt, teamed with a Jacquard Baroque trousers, and knee high boots.

 Benetton Style: Party dresses

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 14th, 2012

It’s that time of year again, the office party!  We all love to party, a game of secret Santa, sipping champagne, sing karaoke but working hours in the office will not save you time to head home, get pampered, dress up, hair and make up will cause party panic especially with women.  Here’s an advice, bring your hair, make up kit and party dress to work, no time to get change but prefer to spend more time in the ladies for the hair and make-up? Wear the dress to, teamed with a cardigan or suit jacket to whip it off later, swap sensible shoes with dazzling heels for the evening event. Tadah!  Check out Benetton e-store for party dresses, tops and skirts.

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 15th, 2012

A while ago, I took a trip to Yorkshire to check out Wool Re-fashioned exhibition at Salts Mill, celebrating the finest UK design talent alongside the 25th year of Yorkshire heritage site, and collaboration between the Yorkshire Fashion Archive, Leeds design students and The Woolmark Company.  A showcase exhibiting vintage pieces such as the iconic designers Ossie Clark and Issey Miyake as well as mainstream high street brands.  Donated classic items have been reworked in wool by Leeds University Design students, and highlight versatility of the traditional fabric and traditional method in pattern cutting in conjunction with modern day techniques and methods.

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: October 29th, 2012

Before I grab my Winter coat and talk about Winter fashion, oversized military camouflage jackets has always been a popular trend to grunge lovers especially of that in non-existent Summer, jacket teamed with Dr Martens, hot pants and bare legs, popular sightings in hip areas such as Brick Lane, Shoreditch and mass populated shopping district in Oxford Street.  I bought mine, a vintage camo jacket from a vintage store in East London, I teamed the jacket with a vintage belt cinched around the waist, boyfriend jeans with hems rolled up, spiky lace up ankle boots and bright coloured investment bag.  How would you style yours?

 Wool Week

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: October 18th, 2012

It’s Wool Week this week, it’s a camapaign to raise awareness about the benefits and versatility of wool in fashion and furnishing industry.  To support local farmers, retailers, local businesses that depends on wool industry, particularly that we have over 100 wool mills still in operation across the United Kingdom.

A while ago, I was fortunate to visit Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd, a family owned company based in the suburbs of Guiseley in West Yorkshire, home to woollen and worsted mills.   It was my first time witnessing how fabrics are manufactured in a production plant in real life, but seen the live action of a working (and very noisy) power loom in the BBC’s adaption ‘North and South‘ written by British novelist Elizabeth Gaskell.  Moon representing as the last standing woollen mill in Guiseley, with dyeing, blending, carding, spinning, weaving and finishing processes all taking place on one site, and they are exceptionally proud of their ‘Made in Britain’ heritage.
