Holland Park

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 17th, 2012

Holland Park is known as one of London’s poshest Royal parks, not only it is located in West London’s exclusive hotspots such as Notting Hill, Portobello Road Market and Kensington Park.  Holland Park is famous for its serene Kyoto Garden that houses a school of Japanese carps, waterfall feature and pond, and tamed peacocks.  As well as other English themed gardens, it is considered one of the most romantic parks and its semi-wild woodland near the ruins of Holland House.

 Benetton Style: Party dresses

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 14th, 2012

It’s that time of year again, the office party!  We all love to party, a game of secret Santa, sipping champagne, sing karaoke but working hours in the office will not save you time to head home, get pampered, dress up, hair and make up will cause party panic especially with women.  Here’s an advice, bring your hair, make up kit and party dress to work, no time to get change but prefer to spend more time in the ladies for the hair and make-up? Wear the dress to, teamed with a cardigan or suit jacket to whip it off later, swap sensible shoes with dazzling heels for the evening event. Tadah!  Check out Benetton e-store for party dresses, tops and skirts.

I cam across a beautiful poem by Iris Rain dedicated to Winter, thought I like to share it with you all.

The First Day of Snow – By Iris Rain via Poemhunter.com

Snow, is a luxury
In our tropical world
Snow is a fable
Never saw, never touched, never smell

The first day of snow drifting onto a winter wonderland
The first time I felt it, on my face, around me
Boundless joy, wonder, ecstasies
Unreal, beautiful, white
A winter wonderland of ecstasies
Just for me

Silvery icicles, hanging off branches golden like the autumn days fading into winter
Silvery, like fairy tales
Pond of frozen winter clear, ducks swimming chasing their own tails
In ecstasies, in wonder, like a fairytale unfold

Snow, is a luxury
Unreal, beautiful, unbelievably soft
Boundless wonder, boundless joy
A magical world of snowy white
God’s glorious creation

A winter wonderland,
Beautiful beyond measure

We do love a bit of good news when someone you love and or someone famous announce their pregnancy.  Recently, our Princess the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is having a baby, the unexpected news was announced early last week, when she was admitted to hospital with acute morning sickness.  Myself, who was born in the same year as Prince William and see him grow up in the media spotlight, from starting school, losing a parent, on and off relationship to getting married…and now he’s becoming a Father.  We wish them both happiness and good luck, we can’t wait to see the little one arrive.

 Spectrum of colours

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 6th, 2012

Having a full collection of self style outfits placing under one folder, not realising you have a spectrum of solid coloured outfits, ranging from full black, red, to white with hints of accent tones to breakdown the solidity of full solid colours.  I have a dressing up challenge leading up to Christmas is to wear full on red on red on red and on red (no other accent tones), watch out for red, please dare me.

Check out Benetton for inspiring colour collection.

 Happy thanks giving!

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 23rd, 2012

Our American friends have celebrated their Thanks Giving across the globe yesterday, as British we thought we join in and adopt this tradition too.  It’s Black Friday of course, which means shopping for bargains and late closing hours woohoo!

Happy Thanks Giving.  I hope for world peace, sustainability and give back to community.  Thank you Benetton for giving us core values and voice (#unhate).

 Borough Market

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 19th, 2012

On a cold Friday afternoon where misty fog covered London’s tallest buildings, lost within the grey dense and not a single speck of light can be seen in the distance.  I took short trip to Borough Market to explore the busy food market, it is usually packed with tourists and photography enthusiasts of all levels (including myself).  Borough Market is the largest wholesale and retail food market in London, known as a foodie heaven, it consists of up to 70 stalls and stands from fresh/organic produce, savoury, preserved foot to homemade gourmet.  Christmas is happening in just a few weeks, it is definite the place to be to buy fresh ingredients for your Christmas dinner/roast and hamper, mind you the market will be busy and vibrant.

 Wool Re-fashioned

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 15th, 2012

A while ago, I took a trip to Yorkshire to check out Wool Re-fashioned exhibition at Salts Mill, celebrating the finest UK design talent alongside the 25th year of Yorkshire heritage site, and collaboration between the Yorkshire Fashion Archive, Leeds design students and The Woolmark Company.  A showcase exhibiting vintage pieces such as the iconic designers Ossie Clark and Issey Miyake as well as mainstream high street brands.  Donated classic items have been reworked in wool by Leeds University Design students, and highlight versatility of the traditional fabric and traditional method in pattern cutting in conjunction with modern day techniques and methods.

 Red Autumn

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 13th, 2012

This season turns out to be quite a spectacular Autumn, the falling leaves from trees of all sorts of enrich colours; the reds, yellows, oranges and greens, giving the park and tree lined streets a lease of life before approaching leafless Winter.  I must admit my wardrobe hasn’t yet fully prepared for the cold days….must top up some knits and woollies at Benetton.   Are you ready for Autumn?
