After last year’s successful run of Hyper Japan at Kensington Olympia venue in London, I was fortunate to attend the event as guest of Tabio (a Japanese socks and hosiery company). Hyper Japan was all about cuisine, culture and cool: everything that’s creative, cute and crazy about contemporary Japan.
Face painting session.
Food stand selling handmade sushi.
Exhibitor dressed in Kimono. A stand selling dedicated Mangas and idol magazines.
Exhibitor dressing a girl in kimono, quite a delicate and complicated, step by step process.
Tabio stand selling their best selling socks.
Origami making and traditional calligraphy session.
Cosplay performance award and audience.
Cute animal backpacks.
I find the experience astonishing and inspirational, particularly seeing young fans dressed up in Cosplay costumes in fitting tribute to their favourite and identified Manga/Anime characters, they looked adorable. Japanese culture is officially cool and I cannot wait for the 2012 event.
