Benetton SS12 Press Day, part 1.

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 9th, 2011

Vibrant and soft muted colours are subjective of spring and summer vibe essentially of personal styling, simple shapes and surface detailing balances the message of loud and quiet colours.  This is why Benetton spring summer collection are always tastefully tailored to customer’s needs, like myself I’m in awe of their deliciously bright citrusy colours, for us fans of colour we will have to wait until SS12 collection arrive on shop floor in Spring, THAT I cannot wait.

Press day nibbles.

Left: Polka dot fine cotton knit cardigan.  Right: Pink pleated skirt is a must have for pleated skirt fans.

A straw-like textured brogues, great for ventilation in hot summer.

Left: Light trench coat with tie, how very 90s.  Right: Satchel bag, yellow is still very much a popular seasonal colour.

More polka dots!

Suede sandals.

Left: Mini trench coat with open front yoke.  Right: How gorgeous is this dress?

Casual beachy accessories.

Stay tuned for Benetton SS12 press day part 2.

 Hackney City Farm

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: December 1st, 2011

As a keen long distance walker and have yet to visit a place or area where I haven’t explored previously, take Hackney City Farm for an example I discovered the farm 4 years ago whilst I was training for half marathon at a nearby park.  At the time of the discovery I never knew London had a small community farm which existed for over 20 years let alone the only animal kingdom is London Zoo located in prestigious Regents Park.  The best thing about this tiny farm is you have an opportunity to get up close to a small range of animals, and the admission is FREE!  Don’t you just love seeing two giant pigs snuggle up together, and sleep soundly on a cold winter afternoon?  Oh yes, pigs do smile when they are asleep.

Columbia Road Flower Market, Part 1

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 28th, 2011

As a native South Londoner living in North London since early teenhood I never knew flower markets existed in London, despite my lack of knowledge of where you can purchase a bunch of flowers at a bargain price rather a double from a normal high street.  On Sunday, thankfully we had a clear weather but cold, my fellow friends and I embarked on an adventure trip to Columbia Road Flower Market in Hackney in hope to capture the magic atmosphere and the like.

Along a road of Victorian shops and small number of stalls selling bread, cakes, cheese, old vintage/antique wares and unusual items, bric-a-brac, popular with young hungry regulars, tourists and bargain hunters.  I loved seeing a child perched on a window sill selling a tray of home-made fairy cakes, I of course gave the child a 50p to sample her tiny treat.

If you would like to see shots of flower stalls, please stay tuned for part 2.

 Do you like Vietnamese Food?

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 11th, 2011

Oh yes I do!  As a fellow Brit I can’t get enough of authentic Asian food, flavour wise Vietnamese food is the best.  Viet Grill is situated on Kingsland Road in trendy Shoreditch (East London) is one of the most vibrant and busiest Vietnamese restaurants.  My friends and I are frequent customers because it suits our budget, they open from midday through to evening (unlike most Asian restaurants) great if you prefer late lunch.

Above: Vietnamese ice coffee and Summer spring roll.

Vegetarian spring rolls.

Flamed wok chicken and Saigon sate pho.

Cassava vermicelli & shell fish.

 Benetton Style: Equestrian-eque

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 8th, 2011

On a chilly afternoon on a weekend, wearing a Benetton wool blazer (a/w11), a crisp white shirt and jeans, bright yellow socks and heels, hair scrape back into a sleek bob, it would have been a serious mistake if I have worn my brown leather riding boots out in this outfit.  Why? With a pair of riding boots I would end up looking like an equestrian rider in town without a stallion.  Agree?

Thankfully the Benetton wool blazer has kept me warm throughout the evening and totally loving the whole smart ‘grown up’ look.

An Italian flavour – a dose of latte, spinach and gnocchi to give me added strength and warmth due to lack of carbs in recent weeks.

 Ebay Fashion Outlet Event

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 4th, 2011

Last night I attended an ebay Fashion Outlet bloggers event held at W Hotel, humbled by the contemporary appearance of the newly built hotel in a touristy area of Leicester Square.  This season, releases the Winter Wardrobe collection styled by eBay’s Global Creative Director Andrea Linnet, styled and modelled by my lovely blog friends, Jennifer Inglis from The Style Crusader and Sandra Hagelstam from 5inchandup.

The outlet has brought together more than 100 fashion retailers, all of which sell large of volumes of stock through eBay with up to 70% off from the original price.

Fashion bloggers of new and familiar faces took part in a styling competition to create an outfit from selection of items, I must say the competition was fierce, the winning prize was a toy that all bloggers must have for blogging purpose, a Canon 1100D DSLR camera.

Congratulations to my (another) blog friend Alexxsia from My Labyrinth blog for winning!

 Bill’s Cafe

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: November 3rd, 2011

I’ve stumbled upon this quirky cafe ‘Bill’s‘ in the new St Martin’s Courtyard in Covent Garden whilst meeting friends for light lunch.  Bill’s is a unique cafe and produce store created by a team of people who are passionate about food.  A rustic and modern feeling of wonderful eating and shopping environment, incorporating fresh and organic fruit and vegetables, herbs, groceries and hampers.

The cafe offers an array of enticing colourful homemade cakes, pizzas, pies and sandwiches, as well as wider choice of desserts and salads, made to order juices, smoothies and other beverages.

As it was a lovely warm autumn afternoon we decided to eat outside, I ordered a latte, fish finger sandwich and chunky chips and I can’t express how much I really enjoyed eating traditional British food again.  I will for sure come back again, can’t wait to see how a Christmas decoration in the store would look during the festive season.  Exciting!

Bill’s, St Martin’s Couryard, 13 Slingsby Place, London, WC2 Check the website for other branches outside London.

Benetton Open Casting Call in London

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: September 27th, 2011

The Benetton open casting call took place at London’s flagship store the day before London Fashion Week.  The hustles and bustles near the changing room of the store where potential new faces stood and waited patiently signing models release forms, and carefully selected outfits to match their personalities for the main casting photo session with the super-uber amazing photographer and blogger Jackie Dixon of famed Show Me Your Wardrobe.  The photos were to be uploaded on It’s My Time website and cast by the Benetton insiders.  Embarrassingly, the life count in my camera and phone died within minutes of each other, therefore I had no backup to snap pictures but a few of these behind the scenes for your pleasurable view.  I wish the models the best of luck.

 LFW SS12 Street Style

by Be-Blogger U.K. on: September 22nd, 2011

Amidst the hectic tight-squeezing schedules at London Fashion Week where I have been stuffing myself with work and the busiest than previous seasons, covering shows as guest blogger for two online publications and guest tweeting, poking endlessly on my touch screen phone like I was trying to kill an angry insect.

Since I have been occupied, I’ve managed to squeeze a bit of street style on the last day with one bar of battery left.
